It was Xmas 1984 and I had to run to the mall to get some last stocking stuffers. There in the mall was a pet store, that I passed by numerous times, however, this evening there sat a little white dog all alone in the window watching the people hurry by. He caught my eye, he looked so lonely and I stopped to look at him. My husband Larry pulled me by the arm and said "No, No, we already have a dog and two cats." "But it is Xmas," I said, "What is one more ?"
I went into the store to ask about that little white dog, the owner only was to eager to let him go, the pup was 6 months old, a Westie, and if he would not be sold by Xmas, he would be send to the lab for testing. Well, that worked on me, besides, the price was 400 Dollars.
And so, 30 minutes later I arrived home with my first Westie . I called him WHISKY, very original, I know. I joined the Westie Club to learn more about the breed and I noticed that my Westie did not look like the other Westies in the club. But I loved him anyway and a year later I bought my first show dog named Serendipity and so it began.
WHISKY was neutered and lived with all my champions and pups to the ripe age of 14 !
I called the Kennel Serendipity because of a Persian Fairy tale and a dream come true
